BNR News Radio, 30 July 2015: Privacy First reaction to Belgian 'opt-in' to WiFi tracking

Today became known That, if it were up to the Belgian Privacy Commission, Belgium would henceforth have a opt-in instead of opt-out applies to WiFi tracking in shops and other public places. Thus, in order to be tracked by companies using WiFi signals from mobile phones, people in Belgium will be in advance need to be informed and permission have to give. This instead of consent or objection afterwards (opt-out) as currently seems to be in place in the Netherlands and seems to be tolerated by the Dutch Data Protection Authority (CBP). So Belgium is taking this a step further than the Netherlands, which is good news. News that deserves to be emulated in the Netherlands.
