Privacy First Foundation - Privacy policy

Privacy First Foundation stands up for the privacy rights of all of us. In this statement, we explain how we handle your right to privacy on our website and for our business operations and what we do and do not record. Privacy First processes as little personal data as possible. Not only because it is not necessary, but also to protect people who interact with us, from activists to politicians. Our principles for processing personal data are:

  • we process as little personal data as possible;
  • all our activities and information can be visited or accessed anonymously. For example, when a newsletter is sent to an individual, there is no problem if this individual uses an alias;
  • we process personal data within the framework of the AVG;
  • We adapt where possible privacy by design and privacy by default toe;
  • personal data will not be sold, further processed or disclosed to others;
  • if we store personal data, we will not do so for longer than strictly necessary.

What we process personal data for

Personal data is only processed if the data subject has given consent. We process personal data:

  • for our internal organisation, the professional volunteers and ambassadors;
  • To send newsletters;
  • to organise events, meetings and actions;
  • If data is left via web forms, such as a contact form or donation;
  • if we are asked for advice, we process your contact details and create a temporary work file if necessary. We process any special personal data only with your explicit consent. These personal data are not kept longer than strictly necessary and are destroyed after use.

Security

Privacy First Foundation takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to counter abuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised modification.

Our website is hosted at Greenhost. We chose Greenhost because this provider is committed to socially relevant issues such as sustainability and digital freedom and has a strong track record has when it comes to privacy.

Website

Our website does not place cookies and we cannot see who clicks on a specific link. Our website statistics only track how often a particular page is visited. The website uses a reliable SSL certificate.

We expressly do not use Google Analytics but apply Simple Analytics to gain insight into the number of visitors. The anonymous statistics obtained are owned by Privacy First and are not shared with third parties.

On some parts of the website, for example where YouTube videos are shown, you can still third-party cookies from Doubleclick. We cannot block these (yet). We advise you to adblocker or this adblocker to use if you want to watch the videos.

Donate

On the donation page of Privacy First it is possible to donate anonymously without entering any personal data. If you provide a one-off donation it is always anonymous. If you periodic wish to donate anonymously please enter the following email address: anoniem@privacyfirst.nl.

Donations received are posted to Privacy First's bank account via Mollie BV. The focus is on received, as we do not further process this data to target certain (groups of) donors. On the donation page, you choose which payment channel will be used to make a donation. Here you can choose between iDEAL, PayPal, Bancontact, Belfius or Sofort. We then see only an anonymous (collective) payment from Mollie BV on our bank statement.

Donating with Bitcoin is possible through our partners BitKassa and Bitmymoney. Anonymous donations can be made by entering the email address anoniem@bitkassa.nl at BitKassa.

Donations can also be made via Give BV: http://www.geef.nl/doel/privacyfirst. Processing is carried out by them. Again, anonymous donation is possible. Further donation is completed by them and is not visible to us. If you do leave details, we will receive them. Mailing lists

Professional volunteers, ambassadors and other interested parties and/or relations of Privacy First, who provide us with their contact details, can be informed about the processing of personal data by e-mail via our newsletter provider Laposta. We have a processing agreement with this organisation. Each email and newsletter will state how the recipient can opt out of further processing. We will then remove the person's data from our systems and Laposta's systems.

Sharing with third parties

If you have contact with us, it is a matter between you and us. We will therefore never sell or provide our relations' personal data to third parties.

Your rights

You have the right to inspect, correct or delete your personal data. A request for inspection, correction or deletion can be sent to info@privacyfirst.nl. We will respond to the request as soon as possible, but at the latest within four weeks.

If you believe that we are not acting in accordance with privacy legislation, please let us know. You can also complain about this to the Personal Data Authority, via their complaints page.
