New year reception Privacy First with guest speaker Brenno de Winter

Privacy First Foundation is pleased to invite you to its New Year's Reception! It will take place at Thursday evening 19 January as. at our office location in Amsterdam. The evening will largely focus on the Shared Democracy: after Athens (democracy 1.0) and our current 19th-century parliamentary democracy (2.0), in Privacy First's view, it is high time for further renewal and citizen participation: Shared Democracy, democracy 3.0! In his New Year speech, Privacy First chairman Bas Filippini will give our take on this. Next, ICT researcher Brenno de Winter on the issues surrounding privacy, information security and the current gap between citizens and government. In his new book Digital Storm Surge he painfully exposes how information security and privacy protection are failing and how we as a society can steer towards workable solutions.

How can we use Shared Democracy to make solutions a reality? We would like to discuss this with you to jointly come up with possible answers, followed by drinks where we can toast together to a privacy-friendly 2017!

Everyone is welcome, admission is free. Donations to Privacy First, however, are greatly appreciated. Sign up can be done via info@privacyfirst.nl, but is not mandatory.
