NRC Handelsblad, 13 March 2012: 'Psychological ailment need not appear on invoice'

"Patients who object to the treatment of their mental illness appearing on the insurer's bill can prevent it. That is the consequence of a ruling of the Trade and Industry Appeals Tribunal (CBb). Psychiatrists and psychologists won a lawsuit they had filed against the Dutch Healthcare Authority, the government agency that sets rules and tariffs in healthcare. The healthcare providers wanted to protect patients' privacy, as well as their own professional secrecy. Privacy First, the foundation that watches over privacy protection, called it a "landmark ruling."
