Following the possible denouement in the Marianne Vaatstra murder case, there has been a lot of activity in recent days around the possible mandatory use of DNA in tracing. For example, there was a televised interesting discussion between Peter R. de Vries and NRC commentator Folkert Jensma on whether there should be a national DNA database.
