Privacy First is not surprised by the cancellation of a nationwide storage for fingerprints. "In recent times, social pressure increased. Especially after the critical hearing last week, this does not surprise us," the spokesperson said.
The foundation is extremely pleased that the identity card will no longer have to include fingerprints. "This is very good news for people who are against giving their fingerprints but want to be able to identify themselves," the spokesman said."
