"The Privacy First foundation continues to oppose the new passport law. Under the new rules, citizens will be required to give up a fingerprint and the foundation disagrees with that.

Privacy First had filed a lawsuit, but the foundation was declared inadmissible on the grounds that it had no direct interest. Individual complainants who had joined the case were advised by the judge to take the case to the administrative court.

Privacy First is now going to appeal, reports Webwereld. The foundation has had the ruling analysed by lawyers and thinks it has a good chance of still bringing the case. (...)"
