Privacy First public debate: the right to anonymous payment

In Privacy First's view, the right to privacy includes the right to anonymous payment. However, this right has come under increasing pressure in recent years. Cash is increasingly being eliminated, with no anonymous digital alternatives to replace it. To what extent does a right to cash or otherwise anonymous payment exist? How can this right be legally strengthened and technically realised?

Privacy First will debate these and other questions on 7 April next, led by moderator Ancilla Tilia (columnist FD) with four guest speakers: Vincent Jansen (Innopay - Payments & Digital Identity), Bram Scholten (DNB), Eric Verheul (KeyControls/Radboud University) and Olivier Oosterbaan (Leopold Meijnen Oosterbaan Advocaten). The evening will be opened by Privacy First chairman Bas Filippini. After the public debate, we will conclude with drinks.

Everyone is welcome and admission is free. However, donations to Privacy First are greatly appreciated. You can register at info@privacyfirst.nl, but it is not compulsory.

Date: Thursday 7 April 2016, 8pm-2pm (walk-in from 7.30pm).
