Wed, 13 May 2015: 'Route check gets court approval'

"The section control system on the A2 can be used, the Utrecht subdistrict court ruled yesterday. Privacy First Foundation had demanded a ban because this system would also violate the privacy of innocent motorists. A network with 150 to 200 cameras for route controls in the Netherlands records all license plates. However, the judge ruled that the invasion of privacy is 'minor' and that there is 'a legal basis' for the system."
