In late January 2025 (around European Privacy Day), the Privacy First Foundation will again organise the presentation of the annual Dutch Privacy Awards!

Privacy First cordially invites potential Award candidates to apply for these prestigious Awards. Sponsors, media partners and volunteers are also most welcome, as are suggestions for potential award winners.

Dutch Privacy Awards

Every year, Privacy First organises in conjunction with ECP | Platform for the Information Society during the National Privacy Conference the presentation of the Dutch Privacy Awards. A professional expert jury considers privacy-aware solutions and initiatives by companies, governments and other organisations that have privacy and information protection high on their agenda.

The 2024 winners were Jet-Stream, Privacy Simulation, Public Transport Groningen Drenthe and Oasys Now. At the Privacy Awards website you will find an overview of all nominees and winners since 2018. Each of them are building blocks for a privacy-friendly society.

Jury

The Privacy Awards jury consists of independent privacy experts: Jaap van der Wel (jury chairman), Mabel de Vries, Magdalena Magala, Rion Rijker, Sanne van de Velde, Koen Versmissen and Walter van Wijk. Registration

The jury nominates entries in the following categories:

Technology
Technology that repels rather than facilitates prying eyes.
Application
Smart, thoughtful solutions for maintaining privacy when using personal data.
Raising awareness
An outstanding understanding of the importance of privacy protection among decision-makers, designers and implementers.

There is also the possibility of a Incentive Award.

Submissions will be assessed against the following criteria, among others:
- social impact
- innovative capacity
- self-reliance.

Report your initiative to us! Who knows, maybe you will be among the nominees of the next edition, and stand on the podium with a trophy in your hands at the end of January 2025. The checklist for your application can be found at here.
